Hack the Banner Image

WordPress replaced the Twenty Ten theme with a new Twenty Eleven theme recently, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to tryout this new them and see what it could do. Out-of-the-box, Twenty Eleven is easier for the non-technical blogger to customize. Options like placing the sidebar on the left or right, changing the color-scheme and rotating headers are now available in the theme settings and do not have to be coded, like they did in the Twenty Ten theme. The Ephemera Widget

One of the features I like in the new Twenty Eleven theme is the Ephemera widget, which displays all of your blog’s Aside, Status, Quote and Link posts in the sidebar. The problem with Ephemera is that all of those posts still reside in the main content area, as well. Continue reading
